The truth about your Vagina
Just when you thought you knew enough about your private parts, well Zen loves, you are wrong. We’ve rounded up nine facts worth knowing about your nether regions
1|YOUR VAGINA IS JUST A PART OF THE WHOLE DOWN-THERE PACKAGE.
The word simply refers to the canal between the vulva and the cervix. The word is generally reserve for the external parts of the female genitalia, including the clitoris, inner labia, and perineum. But it’s not entirely what makes up a woman’s privates.
2| YOUR VAGINA HAS SOMETHING IN COMMON WITH SHARKS.
Don’t get thrilled. Vaginas don’t have teeth (Vagina dentata) that can kill sharks. What’s true is that vaginal lubrication or moistness carries an organic compound called squalene—the very same substance found in shark livers! Basically, squalene acts as emollient when added to moisturizers and skin creams.
3| YOU HAVE A SECOND HOT SPOT.
The A-spot stands for anterior fornix erogenous zone, which can increase lubrication and stimulate intense orgasmic contractions. Desmond Morris, a sex researcher and author of The Naked Woman, explains that the recently-discovered spot equates to the male prostate. Where to find the A-spot? Look for it near your G-spot along the upper wall of the vagina heading to the cervix.
4| VAGINAS CAN FALL OUT.
It’s not a myth, the vagina can actually fall out! When the supporting structures of vagina dwindle, vaginal prolapse occurs, a “condition where structures such as the uterus, rectum, bladder, urethra, small bowel, or the vagina itself begin to prolapse, or fall out of their normal positions”. It can happen because of childbirth (especially multiple births), menopause, and hysterectomy (involves removing the uterus). Other possible causes are advanced age, obesity, dysfunction of the nerves and tissues, and abnormalities of the connective tissue. Healthy diet, active lifestyle, Kegel exercises, and even surgery can help keep this condition at bay.
5| WAXING DOWN THERE CAN CAUSE INFECTIONS.
Waxing may seem hygienic, yet it poses dangers too. According to Dr. Susan Taylor, a Philadelphia-based dermatologist, the process of removing hair from a woman’s private parts causes “tiny nicks and abrasions that can allow bacteria to get under the skin and cause infections”. A study even suggested that Brazilian waxes increase the risk of a pox-like viral infection called molluscum contagiosum. Tip: don’t share razors and refrain from any sexual contact a day or two after waxing
6| HAIR GROWTH IS MUCH SHORTER DOWN THERE.
The vagina grows hair that has the same color as hair on our heads, but only shorter. Experts claim that the growth of pubic hair is much shorter than the ones we have on our heads because the friction it receives from undergarments and everyday ordinary movements cause frequent breakage.
7| WOMEN EJACULATED TOO.
Yes, the fireworks aren’t just for men. Women can ejaculate as well, and are good at it too! In fact, the farthest recorded distance a lady has ejaculated was over 10 feet!
8| THE VAGINA CAN STRETCH UP TO 100 TO 200 PERCENT SIZE.
Yep, a lady’s love canal can expand over a hundred percent. In fact, it can go up to 200 percent! The length of unaroused vagina is estimated to be six to seven and a half cm (two and a half to three inches) across the anterior wall (front) and nine cm (three and half inches) long across the posterior wall (rear). When necessary (like when giving birth or during sexual intercourse) vagina can be incredibly stretchable!
9| THE CLITORIS IS TWICE THE PLEASURE POWERHOUSE THAN THE PENIS IS.
A woman’s clitoris has 8,000 nerve endings for sexual pleasure, that’s times two what the penis has! This part isn’t just a small pink nub that lies underneath the clitoral hood, providing great pleasure for women when stimulated. The clit is regarded as an external organ since researchers found out that “its glans and body are visible, while the roots are hidden”. The whole length of clitoris has been supposed to be almost four inches long.
